On our shared (non-reseller) web hosting plans addon domains allow multiple domain hosting on your account. These can be purchased seperately as an account addon which allows you to host an extra domain for each addon domain you have.
An addon domain is intended to be a totally different site to your root/master domain. If you simply want a mirrored copy of the master domain that is available through a different address e.g. for a different domain extension you can use a parked domain.
What is an addon domain?
Re: What is an addon domain?
Hello friends
An addon domain is a fully functional domain that can be created from within your control panel. Think of it as having multiple hosting packages all sharing the same control panel. You can give them email addresses, forwarders, and more the same way you do for your main domain on the account.
The addon domain will appear as a totally separate domain from your primary domain. There should be no evidence that your domain is an addon domain to incoming traffic when they visit your addon domain.
Thanks for all friends

Re: What is an addon domain?
Addon domains are essentially domain names that share resources and features from just 1 hosting account with other domains but functions as if it were an independent website. It is created from the hosting account control panel and through 1 control panel, you are able to setup email addresses, ftp accounts, databases, and more for each domain that is “added on”.
From the world point of view, no one will be able to tell whether a domain name is a primary domain on an account or if it is an addon domain. This is because an addon domain is still a fully functioning domain. However from an administrative point of view, addon domains are handled just like subdomains.
