Electoral fraud refers to any illegal interference with the process of an election. Interference can take a variety of forms including everything from improper vote counting and intimidation at polls to manipulation of postal voting, as reported in the 2005 UK General Election.

However election law is not restricted to political occasions; instances of electoral fraud also occur in union elections, awards ceremonies and student elections.
